A TRIBUTE TO A NURSE | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
Lord, were those sandals thrown Away or do you have them still, The ones that Jesus wore that night As He climbed up Calvary's Hill? They probably were torn to shreds Because the road was steep And spattered too with His own blood From stones that cut His feet. And yet, I'd like to have them, Lord I'd give them to my nurse She's doing things Christ would do If He were here on earth. She comforts those who are in pain, She wipes their tears away. Her hand upon a fevered brow Cools like an ocean spray. Her hand is like a tonic, Lord. Refreshing as the rain. It causes hearts to pulsate, beat, And throb away every pain. My nurse just walked into my room, Her countenance is sweet. Well, bless her heart, she has them, Lord, Christ's sandals on her feet! - Author Unknown | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
